The ever famous chocolate crinkle cookie has been a stable around the holidays in my family for years. There is nothing better than filling your house with the smells of cookies baking to get you in the holiday spirit. Sometimes, however I run out of time to make them, or I don’t have all the ingredients in the house. I found this awesome cheat recipe a few years ago and while it might not fool my mom they are perfect for Christmas parties, or bringing in snacks to work! They are very quick and easy, require only 5 ingredients and very yummy.

- 1 box devil’s food cake mix
- 1/3 cup vegetable oil
- 2 eggs
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- Powdered sugar
Step 1. Heat oven to 350°F
Step 2. In large bowl, stir dry cake mix, oil, eggs and vanilla with spoon until dough forms.
Step 3. Refrigerate the dough until firm and easy to handle.
Step 4. Shape dough into 1-inch balls. Roll balls in powdered sugar. place dough balls about 2 inches apart on an ungreased cookie sheets.
Step 5. Bake for 9 to 11 minutes or until set, allow cookies to cool for 1 minute; remove from cookie sheets to cooling rack and cool completely.
I know it is simple, but this cheat recipe is just as good as the original and saves you time with fewer ingredients.
